The Reform Secretariat at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, in partnership with the World Bank and in collaboration with the Land Transport Regulatory Commission (LTRC) and the consultative implementing firm, held a training workshop under the Enhancing Women Economic Opportunities in Jordan Operation. The initiative, supported by the Jordan Growth Multi-Donor Trust Fund (Jordan Growth MDTF), aims to improve women’s access to safe and accessible public transport services that support their participation in the labor market.

The Working Group on Good Regulatory Practices held its first technical-level meeting yesterday, 7 October 2025, at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation (MoPIC). The meeting aimed to enhance government coordination with international partners and donors, ensure alignment and avoid duplication in project implementation, and explore funding opportunities for initiatives supporting administrative reforms.

The Jordan Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA) Strategy & Roadmap Workshop, organized in close coordination with the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply (MoITS) and World Bank, concluded today, 15 September, after two days of focused discussions on strengthening Jordan’s trade environment and advancing the implementation of the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement.

Representing the Prime Minister, Minister of State for Public Sector Development, Eng. Badria Balbisi, announced on Tuesday, during an event organized by the Impact Assessment Unit at the Prime Ministry in collaboration with the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation and GIZ, the entry into force of the Legislation and Policies Impact Assessment Bylaw. This new framework aims to improve the process of developing policies and legislations and ensure objectives are achieved efficiently and effectively. 

A recent World Bank report revealed that Jordan has achieved one third of the objectives of the Jordan Inclusive, Transparent and Climate Responsive Investments Program for Results after four years of implementation, reflecting an increase of six percentage points over the past six months. The program, with a total value of USD 900 million comprising USD 500 million as the initial loan and USD 400 million in additional financing, aims to promote investment in climate responsive projects, improve the business environment and enhance transparency in public investment management. As of July 28, 2025, a total of USD 500.16 million had been disbursed.

The World Bank has confirmed that Jordan has achieved 17 percent progress in the implementation of its People-Centric Digital Government Program during the first six months since its launch on March 26, 2024. The program, which will continue through June 2028, aims to enhance the delivery of digital public services, promote inclusivity, and improve institutional performance.

As part of the Government of Jordan’s ongoing efforts to enhance women’s participation in the labor market and in alignment with the national agenda for women’s economic empowerment, the World Bank, in close coordination with the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation (MoPIC) – Reform Secretariat, and the Ministry of Social Development (MoSD), held a consultative session on Monday, August 4, 2025.

As part of efforts to advance inclusive and climate-responsive investments in Jordan’s tourism sector, the government is developing site management plans for key heritage locations, with support from the Jordan Growth Multi-Donor Trust Fund under the Program-for-Results on Inclusive, Transparent, and Climate-Responsive Investments. On 22 July 2025, a field visit was conducted to the Amman Citadel, one of the pilot sites.

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Department of Antiquities, in coordination with the Reform Secretariat at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, held two consultation sessions with hotel sector representatives on July 17 and 21, 2025 to discuss a draft of updated national hotel classification standards. The goal is to raise service quality and promote investment in the tourism sector.
