The Reform Secretariat at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, in partnership with the World Bank and in coordination with the Ministry of Investment, kicked off today a two-day technical workshop on the development and reform of sectoral licenses. The event brings together 30 participants representing nine government entities, with the aim of enhancing their capacities in good practices in the business licensing, regulatory impact assessments, and the principles of effective licensing.

A high-level delegation from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, headed by Ambassador H.E. Harry Verweij, visited Jordan’s National Aid Fund (NAF) on Monday, 26 May 2025, to observe firsthand the progress made in strengthening the country’s social protection system. The visit was organized by the Reform Secretariat at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation (MoPIC) in collaboration with the World Bank, as part of continued efforts to showcase results achieved under the Jordan Growth Multi-Donor Trust Fund (Jordan Growth MDTF).

The Reform Secretariat at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, in collaboration with the World Bank, organized a field visit on Monday, May 19, 2025. The visit hosted a delegation of seven donor entities interested in the reform process, three of which are contributors to the Jordan Inclusive Growth and Economic Opportunities Multi-Donor Trust Fund (Jordan Growth MDTF). 

The Reform Secretariat at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation held the first meeting of the government working group responsible for drafting the instructions for the Good Regulatory Practices and Impact Assessment Bylaw, in collaboration with the Regulatory Impact Assessment Unit at the Prime Ministry, and with the participation of relevant entities, including the Legislation and Opinion Bureau, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Social Development, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, and the Ministry of Finance. This effort is based on Article (5) of the bylaw approved by the Cabinet earlier this year.

The Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, held today the final workshop for the National Traceability System for Agri-Food Products. The event brought together representatives from government institutions, the private sector, civil society organizations, and academia to present the final recommendations for the system, marking the conclusion of the design phase and paving the way for policy adoption and actual implementation.

As part of the work of the Green Bond Working Group, the Reform Secretariat |MoPIC, in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance and the World Bank team, including leading experts from the World Bank Treasury in capital market sustainability instruments, held on Monday, 28 April 2025, a focused workshop on the progress made so far in preparation for the first sovereign green bond issuance in Jordan.

The National Steering Committee for Health Data Governance, chaired by the Jordan Center for Disease Control (JCDC), held its second meeting on Wednesday, April 4, with the participation of representatives from several national and international entities concerned with the health, data, and digital transformation sectors.

As part of efforts to promote green finance locally, the first meeting of the Green Taxonomy Technical Working Group in Jordan was successfully held on 25 February 2025, marking a crucial step toward establishing a vital framework for classifying environmentally sustainable economic activities in Jordan.

As part of the ongoing efforts to enhance Jordan’s agricultural and food traceability system, a delegation from Jordan, comprising representatives from the Reform Secretariat (RS), the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA), and the consulting firm, visited Vietnam for five days late February 2025. The visit aimed to gain insights into Vietnam’s experience in developing and implementing food and agricultural traceability system, aligning with Jordan's commitment to improving the quality, safety and global competitiveness of its agricultural exports.
