The Minister of Agriculture, Engineer Khaled Al-Hunifat, reviewed the progress of the National Agri-Food Traceability System Project, which is being implemented with support from the Reform Secretariat at the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation through the Jordan Growth MDTF. The consulting company presented the achievements made in Phases 1 and 2 of the project, which were successfully completed. The third phase has now begun, aiming to evaluate the latest traceability technologies and software systems, based on international best practices, and to propose and design an appropriate electronic traceability system for agricultural products.

The Minister emphasized the importance of executing the project at this time due to its significance in enhancing food safety and quality and boosting the competitiveness of Jordanian agricultural exports. He stressed the need to adhere to the project’s timeline for successful implementation.
