As part of efforts to promote green finance locally, the first meeting of the Green Taxonomy Technical Working Group in Jordan was successfully held on 25 February 2025, marking a crucial step toward establishing a vital framework for classifying environmentally sustainable economic activities in Jordan.
This initiative is being developed through close collaboration between the Ministry of Environment, the Central Bank of Jordan, and the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation - Reform Secretariat, with technical support from the World Bank through the Jordan Growth MDTF. The Technical Working Group comprises 15 experts from government and private sectors.

The national green taxonomy is expected to be finalized before the end of 2025. It will play a vital role in unlocking climate finance, creating green jobs, and fostering private sector growth.
